Ford have been working with Microsoft to come out with the infotainment for their vehicle. Called the MyFord Touch infotainment system, the system was often described as not user-friendly and generally a headache to use.
For 2016, Ford decided to drop the Microsoft infotainment system by working with Blackberry to come out with a new simpler looking infotainment system so that their customers can have a better experience.
The new infotainment system will be called the Sync 3 which will be developed using the Blackberry QNX OS. The OS is already being used by another automaker like Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
According to Ford, the new system will be a lot easy to use with a simple and easy to understand UI. The new system will also come with the new Applink which will ensure that the system is compatible with other smartphone apps. The Sync 3 will be offered on all 2016 Ford and Lincoln model.
