It is about time Ford decided to do something about the Ford MyTouch infotainment system. While it is not the worst there is out there, it was far from being the best and after years of holding on to it, Ford has finally decided to drop it.
The Ford MyTouch will now be replaced by the new Sync 3 infotainment system that Ford will be building with the help of Blackberry. The Sync 3 will be build using the Blackberry QNX OS.
Automakers like Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW have already been using the OS but late is better than never. Ford added that the new Sync 3 will be much easier to use and more user-friendly with a simpler interface.
The Sync 3 will also come with the new AppLink that will ensure that the infotainment system will be compatible with any smartphone app. The Sync 3 will come in next year with the 2016 Ford and Lincoln models.
