Seems like the 2016 Dodge Challenger as well as the SRT Charger are going to have big changes. It’s going to be more powerful. And it’s all due to the turbocharged engine. Note that the current versions of the vehicles have 707 horsepower V8 Hemi 6.2-litre engine which offers up to 880Nm of torque, but the newer versions would see massive improvement, and we’ll tell you why.
The V8 6.4 engine is naturally aspirated and it’s going to offer 485 horsepower along with 644Nm of torque. So, what it means is that the SRT Charger Hellcat and 2016 Dodge Challenger will offer up to either the 4-cylinder twin-turbo engine or the 6-cylinder when they arrive very soon in the market.
What we can only do right now is to make do of the engines that are available, as it’s claimed that both the 2016 Dodge Challenger and SRT Charger Hellcat are not arriving until 2019. Long way to go, isn’t it? We’re not sure if the hype for it will still be there, though.
