The Geneva Motor Show is now behind us and what an event it has been for motoring enthusiasts. Now, it is time for the automotive fans to get to New York in anticipation for the annual New York Auto Show happening next month.
Among the many things that are coming at the future event is the next-gen Chevrolet Malibu. The American carmaker came out earlier today to tease more on the upcoming Malibu and their latest announcement confirmed that the fastback sedan is going to be built on a brand new platform.
In detail, the platform utilizes more high-strength steel which resulted in 300 pounds of weight reduction when compared to the previous Malibu. Obviously, the weight loss will return better gas mileage, improved power output and also better handling.
The Malibu is also going to be longer as the wheelbase now has a length that is 4” longer. To complete the package, the Malibu is to come with shorter overhangs front and rear and a roofline that tapers towards the car’s tail section.
When the annual New York Auto Show commences, there is no doubt that Chevrolet will be unveiling the production model of the future Malibu and we can’t wait until that happens.
