It was initially believed that the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Duramax model along with the GMC Canyon Duramax will be arriving before 2015 ends, but it looks like it might not be happening anymore.
Everything seems to be right on track until the point where the whole Volkswagen diesel scandal started. It was believed that arrival of the Chevrolet Colorado Duramax and GMC Canyon Duramax will be slightly delayed because EPA now requires them to have more testing done, but both cars pass the test without any issue and still no Chevrolet Colorado Duramax and GMC Canyon Duramax in sight.
So what is going on? Well, it looks like the trucks will be delayed due to some final validation issue as reported by GMC spokesperson, Brian Goebel. The truck failed GM’s final validation standard so it looks like we will have to wait until 2017 before we will be able to get out hands on the diesel-powered trucks.
