While Volkswagen is still trying to clean up the mess they made with the whole diesel emission cheating incident, GM is ready to offer their Chevrolet Colorado with the Duramax diesel engine.
GM wants to make sure that they have all the ground covered by offering the Chevrolet Colorado with a diesel engine option. The Chevrolet Colorado Duramax model will be running on a 16-valve DOHC 2.8 liter Duramax four-cylinder engine that will be pushing out about 181hp.
The engine will come mated to a six-speed auto transmission and according to GM, the diesel-powered Colorado will be able to return about 31mpg on the highway with the 2WD system.
The Colorado will return about 20mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway with the four-wheel drive system. That puts the Chevrolet Colorado right on the top as the most fuel-efficient truck in the market, beating models like the Ram 1500.
