The new 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Diesel has gone worldwide way before its first debut to the public. Why do we say so? That’s all because Chevrolet is a French name, its new Duramax turbo-diesel engine is made in Thailand, the transmission is assembled in Mexico, the basic design gets plenty of Brazil in it, and the whole car is assembled in Missouri. What’s more, you need at least $3730 to own one instead of this compact truck’s gasoline-fired version.
To begin with, the huge, long-stroke, 16-valve DOHC 2.8-liter Duramax four-cylinder runs at only 181 horsepower, but at just 2000 rpm, it agitates up 369 lb-ft of torque. That’s 100 lb-ft more what the Chevrolet Colorado’s gasoline V-6 can offer.
The engine seldom operates at over 2000 rpm of speed, and the car’s transmission is just as postured as it is when it is pounded to a gas engine. Of course, the diesel is not as fast as the V-6, but it is fast enough under most circumstances. No EPA fuel-economy ratings available yet, but it is said that it will be 30 mpg highway for the Chevrolet Colorado Diesel.
The 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Diesel is small enough to fit in most garages and good enough to drive everyday. Not only that, the car offers an affordable price for a diesel truck. Cute truck though, Chevrolet.
