The base Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro is impressive on their own but to really see what these muscle cars are capable of doing, we will need to go all the way up to the top of the range models, the Chevrolet Camaro SS and Ford Mustang Shelby GT.
The Chevrolet Camaro SS is all about being nimble and light. The top of the range model will be powered y an LT1 V8 engine that will be pushing out about 455hp and 455lb ft of torque. The engine will come mated to a six-speed manual.
The Ford Shelby GT, on the other hand, will come in with a 5.2 liter V8 engine that will be able to deliver about 526hp and 429lb ft of torque. With all the extra ponies, it might seem like the Mustang has a slight advantage but we also need to take into account the fact that the Mustang is bigger and heavier compared to the Camaro SS model.
If it is based on looks, we can’t help but feel that the Mustang has a slight edge over the Camaro. We liked the upgrades they’ve done on the Camaro but we wished they would have done more.
