With all the issues with diesel engine right now, most automakers will probably stay away from diesel engines for now until the storm calms down but not BMW as they prepared to start producing the 2016 BMW X5 xDrive35d model.
This was announced after they passed the strict new testing done by EPA. EPA announced that it has already tested the BMW X5 xDrive35d model and added that the model has now been cleared to be sold on Canada and United States.
After the whole Volksgwane incident, EPA announced that they will be conducting a few more test on diesel model before releasing it into the market. Despite the new test, BMW passes without any issue.
The 2016 BMW X5 xDrive35d production will start real soon. The model will come in with a 3.0 liter inline six cylinder turbocharged engine mated to an eight speed manual transmission that will be pushing out about 255hp. The vehicle will return about 24mpg in the city and 31mpg on the highway.
