The new BMW X4 M40i has come with an upgraded version of the X4 35i’s N55 inline six, with 343 lb-ft of torque and 355 horsepower. With an increase of 43 lb-ft and 55 horsepower, it transforms into a factory-estimated zero-to-60-mph sprint of just 4.7 seconds, less than 5.2 seconds for the 35i. The speed can be increased up to 150 mph.
However, many car lovers have been questioning BMW’s decision as they say that the numbers or the series do not matter anymore. Whether it’s a 3 series, 4 or 5, the engine specification does not make sense as they used to be simple. Now, they are comparing the models with other car like the Mercedes Benz who is also doing the same thing and losing its x-factor. Of all the criticisms, the X4 M40i still has its steal like the modified steering, antiroll bars and stiffer springs, and there is a chance for X4 M40i to set a benchmark following its debut in early next year.
