BMW fans, check out the all-new BMW X1, the first front-drive-based car that gets to wear the BMW badge in the US. The X1 represents the shift that is going on at BMW, and for your information, the first BMW X1 was sold the last half of its six-year run. It was basically a tall, last-gen 3 wagon, based on BMW E 90 3 Series underpinnings.
The 2016 BMW X1 new model comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which is a new design based on the company’s sectional engine architecture that can handle threes, fours and sixes using similar component set.
What’s more, the car is not mounted longitudinally like other BMW’s US offerings but instead, it is mounted transversely. The horsepower decreases to 228 from 240 from the previous BMW X1’s 2.0, and slight change of the torque from 260 to 258 lb-ft, which not many will notice the difference. The optional 3.0-liter turbocharge six form the previous generation has disappeared because six is unlikely to fit under the hood of the new BMW X1, and not many customers choose it.
The new BMW X1 is a perfect fit, spacious than before, and the seating position changes from carlike to SUV. If you are interested to buy the new X1 model, go for it, because why not?
