The Audi Q5 had just participated in a crash test organized by IIHS. Being a mid-sized luxury SUV, it can be very difficult for the Q5 to get good grades since most vehicles in the segment always come out with poor or decent ratings.
However, for the Q5, they manage to perform better than average. In detail, the car receives a ‘good’ rating in the small overlap crash test. The final result came out and the Q5 is awarded with the maximum Top Safety Pick+ rating.
Even so, we are not convinced by the Q5 safety structure. We viewed the test personally and noticed that the A Pillar is bending when in the collision. This is something that rarely occurs among cheap SUVs and it can be a worrying sight.
