Volkswagen has confirmed that it wishes to start on a new compact sedan segment by producing a new vehicle that has a coupe-liked body that is shorter than the Jetta but wider than the Passat.
VW has already unveiled the Concept model of the vehicle in question and calls it the New Midsize Coupe. The car comes with 4-doors and is described as a cheaper and smaller alternative to the VW CC.
On the downside of things, VW failed to share any further details on the future car. Some analyst claims that it will replace the Jetta completely while others suggest that the Concept is built to rival the Mercedes GLA Class.
Regardless, we can expect the car to generate 217hp from its engine while being able to sprint from 0-100km/h in just 6.5 seconds. The top speed will be capped at 245km/h.
