Tesla announced last month that the upcoming Tesla Model X is already sold out for the 2015 year. This raised our curiosity for the existing Tesla Model S.
After some digging we discovered a recent report from Merrill Lynch’s John Lovallo that claims Tesla still has 3000 unsold units of the Model S. It was further added by the brokerage company that the vehicle were manufactured at time of launch which confirms that it didn’t sell as well as many believed it to be.
This appears to be nothing more than a business tactic to stamp an exclusive image on Tesla. Thus, the 3000 units of Tesla Model S will sell gradually at snail pace.
On the other hand, the Tesla Model S could also be planned for a foreign market like Europe and China. Of course, it will be tougher to enter the latter due to the domination of the Nissan Leaf. Furthermore, it doesn’t help when Chinamen learns on the hefty pricing of the Tesla Model S.
