Suzuki had just launched the new-generation Vitara and the vehicle has a lot of great thing to offer. Of course, all the attentions will be on the Vitara’s powertrain and today, we are going to explore on that.
Being a compact crossover and a 4×4, we weren’t expecting much from the Vitara. However, Suzuki surprised us when the firm equipped the Vitara with two different 1.6L engine to choose from.
In detail, there is a 1.6L petrol motor and a 1.6L turbocharged diesel unit to decide on. Both engines generate a decent 118hp while being mated to either the 5-speed manual gearbox or the 6-speed automatic transmission.
There are also pre-tuned engine settings available and they are Auto, Sport, Snow and Lock. Each tuning switch has its own driving characteristics. Picking Auto will aid in fuel consumption while choosing Snow or Lock will help get the Vitara out of a difficult driving condition.
The switches, together with the engine setup, basically makes the Vitara a more appealing vehicle with an even better driving experience to offer than the Nissan Qahsqai.
