Last year, Subaru refreshed the Subaru XV Crosstrek and Forester with a brand new model respectively. About a month ago, the Japanese carmaker produced the STI trim for both the latest Crosstrek and Forester.
Unfortunately, the Crosstrek and the Forester STIs are only available in the Asia Pacific region. It has yet to make a global entry but that look like changing very soon.
Even so, Subaru went public earlier today to discuss on how they produced the Crosstrek and Forester STIs. Apparently, both vehicles were developed at Nurnbergring due to the track’s characteristics which best simulates real world road conditions.
This way, Subaru STI team is able to boost the performance of the stock XV Crosstrek and Forester easily. As a result, both vehicles were able to achieve 296hp and 295ft-lbs of torque from its 2L turbocharged engine.
In addition to that, both the XV Crosstrek STI and the Forester STI also comes with larger 19” tyres to support the power boost. Also, the vehicles are able to return great fuel economy that is rated at 31mpg.
Surely, the Subaru XV Crosstrek STI and the Forester STI are superb vehicles to own. Unfortunately, Subaru has yet to share on when they will get released worldwide but that is expected to happen in a matter of weeks from now.
