There is a lot of love for the latest Subaru WRX STI due to its immense power and affordable price tag. For some unknown reasons the WRX STI was found in a standing quarter mile race with the latest Porsche Cayman.
Obviously both vehicles are different from each other. The WRX STI is a sports sedan while the Cayman is a sports coupe. On papers, however, it looks like the WRX STI is already the winner.
The car’s 2.5L turbocharged F4 engine that is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission is able to generate 305hp and 290lb-fts of torque. Certainly this is more powerful than the Cayman’s 2.7L F6 engine that is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The latter generates 275hp and 213ft-lbs of torque.
Of course, on the road, there are bound to be surprises. Considering that the Cayman only weighs at 3059lbs somehow puts it on par with the WRX STI. So will the $38,190 Subaru STI wins it or will the victory go to the $70,160 Porsche Cayman?
We don’t wish to spoil the results for you and highly recommend watching the racing clip for above. It is a pretty short clip but one that will keep you at the edge of your seats.
