Nissan has already confirmed that they are currently developing a successor for the 370Z and the sports car is due to arrive later this year. Nissan is also kind enough to share that the future 370Z will come with a different engine.
In detail, the Japanese carmaker revealed that they will be equipping the next-gen 370Z with a smaller capacity engine. The new motor is aimed at making the 370Z more affordable to run and it will also offer better power output and fuel economy.
While no further details were revealed by Nissan, it is obvious that the new engine will also mean a new name for the roadster. After all, the 370 in 370Z is taken from the 3.7L engine and anything different will surely change the digits accordingly.
For example, the older 350Z features a 3.5L engine and if the future model has a 2.7L engine, then it will be known as the 270Z. What is important is for the ‘Z’ to remain intact as it will make the future car easier to identify.
