The Nissan 370Z has long served the masses as a powerful and affordable roadster. Later this year, the 370Z will get refreshed with an all-new model but the vehicle is going to come with a different name.
This was confirmed by Toyota yesterday when the revealed that the future 370Z will come with a smaller engine capacity. The move is meant to make the roadster cheaper to run. While it might sound like a lesser powerful 370Z, Nissan assured that the new engine will still be as powerful as before.
In addition to that, the smaller engine will force a name change for the 370Z. After all, it is the engine capacity that is attached to the Z that makes the roadster recognizable. Of course, the Z will still remain intact to show that the future car is from Nissan’s roadster family.
So for example, if the future Z is to run on a 2.7L engine, hence it will be known as the 270Z. Of course, nobody has a clue on the new engine capacity. Regardless, consumers can expect more spills from Nissan prior to the Z’s release later this year.
