2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport: Underpowered, Overpriced

Things are getting exciting with the upcoming Discovery Sport as Land Rover has announced the limited edition Launch Editions of the SUV.

The carmaker revealed earlier today that only 250 units of the Discovery Sport Launch Edition will be produced for the US market and the vehicle is going to come with some exclusive features as well.

For starters, the Land Rover Discovery Sport Launch Edition will be painted in Yulong White and this will not be offered for the average Discovery Sport at least until next year. The interior, on the other hand will be themed in black.

The Land Rover Discovery Sport Launch Edition will be retailing at $49,000 and those who are interested in purchasing the car should act fast.

For us, we will be staying far away from the luxury SUV as we find the $49,000 fee overpriced. This is because the Discovery Sport has only 240hp to offer from its 2L 4-cylinder engine and 9-speed automatic transmission whereas other vehicles from the same price bracket have more power to offer.

Then again, this cannot be helped since the vast majority of competitors in the luxury SUV segment offer 2.0T engines as their main volume engine.
