Kia is already taking in orders for the Forte 5 and they claim that the vehicle is a great rival to the Volkswagen Golf. Well, we are not sure what Kia has been smoking lately but we don’t think the Forte 5 is going to excel well when placed against the Golf.
By this, we are focusing on the sales prospect of the car. Looking at the Volkswagen Golf, the car is offered in many trims and varieties. Consumers can choose from the 3-door hatch version, diesel powered models, two different performance models – one affordable and one not so affordable, and AWD.
This is something that Kia couldn’t offer with the Forte 5. The vehicle has only one structure but different features to offer across the trims. The entry-level model cost $19,690 and this comes with a 2L engine that produces 173hp and 214Nm of torque.
Perhaps, Kia should try to compete with the Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris first before even thinking about challenging the Volkswagen Golf in terms of sales.
