For decades already, Jeep has sold countless 2-door Wranglers. However, their sales improved as soon as Jeep introduced the 4-door Wranglers. Over the past few years, the changes with every new Wrangler are immense. This is something many has failed to realize and accept.
We were among the failures until we stepped inside the latest 4-door Wrangler Sahara. Everything was actually different. Instead of being a warfare vehicle like previous Jeep, the Sahara is a gentle ride with Jeep’s hallmark design.
The seats are soft, the transmission is soft and also, there are plenty of features in the cabin that puts it on par with many other commercial four-wheelers. However, that doesn’t take away the rugged performance that Jeep excels in.
The stiff suspension turns a normal straight road into a dirt track pandemonium. If there is an issue which we can brought up, it is the electronic throttle control on the Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Perhaps, it is too automated that the car feels as if it is driving on its own.
Nevertheless, the 3.6L V-6 Pentastar engine performed well, although, you can only feel the 305hp when off the road.
The Jeep Wrangler Sahara is never a failure when on an off-road adventure. The vehicle cost $32,000 for the entry level model which can be quite costly for an average consumer. Also, the Sahara has a steep running cost since it is no fuel saver too.
All in all, the Jeep Wrangler Sahara exhibits the best off-road machines in the world right now. This is despite of the fact that the Wrangler is growing to be gentler with every new generation.
