2015 Jeep Renegade: Decent Compact SUV Struggling To Compete

The arrival of the Jeep Renegade late last year was met with heavy criticism due to the fact that the vehicle is built as a compact SUV. Many analysts believe that this is a mistake from Jeep as the compact SUV segment is overcrowded and the Renegade will be a massive flop.

Today, it seems that the analysts are right as the Renegade continues to struggle in hitting its projected sales. There isn’t anything wrong with the Renegade except for the fact that it is targeted for the off-road enthusiasts only.

For general use, the Renegade lacks a lot when compared to its rivals. Aside from its pretty design, great handling and comfortable interior, the Renegade can be quite the fuel drainer which is something consumers wish to avoid.

It makes the Renegade quite expensive to run on a daily basis, thus, making it less favourable to the likes of the Honda HR-V and the Nissan Juke. On the other hand, the Renegade is simply exquisite with its off-road performance.

Of course, not everyone is a fan of off-roading and this has hence limiting the Renegade sales even further. While it all looks bad for the Renegade, we still feel that it is too early to judge the compact SUV. Things will have to wait until the end of this year before we can be sure if the Renegade is a flop.
