After so much rumours pointing towards its production, Jaguar has finally confirmed yesterday that they will be producing the new F-Type on the AWD system. This will make the upcoming vehicle a direct rival to the Porsche 911.
Once the F-Type AWD is released, it will join up with 14 other models in Jaguar’s line-up. All of them are en route to make an appearance at the upcoming LA Auto Show happening a fortnight from now.
On the downside of things, Jaguar has yet to reveal the details on the upcoming F-Type. Regardless, the carmaker did tease that the top-of-the-line model is able to sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.9 seconds and it will come with the ‘R’ badge. This is 0.2 seconds faster than the RWD variant of the same vehicle. Furthermore, there is a top speed of 186mph for the vehicle.
On the other hand, rumours are hinting that the AWD F-Type R will come with a manual transmission as an option. Surely, the car will be the biggest challenge for the Porsche 911.
