NHTSA has forced Hyundai to recall the latest Genesis after an electrical fault is discovered with the vehicle. Apparently, when water gets inside the taillight assembly, it will result in the system to go haywire and puts the driver at risk of a crash.
In detail, the issue saw the gear numbers wrongly quoted on the gauge. For example, if the gear is in D the display will put it as P. This is ultimately dangerous, especially if a driver that relies on the gear indicator gets confused by it.
An estimated 24,400 units of the 2015 Genesis has been recalled and they are manufactured between February 21, 2014, and January 24, 2015.
Hyundai Genesis drivers should head down to the nearest service centres right away for a free fixing. The workshop will simply install additional waterproofing pads to prevent the water from leaking in to the taillights.
