2015 Honda Step WGN Review

Yesterday, Honda launched the all-new Honda Step WGN and the vehicle is exclusively made for Japan. Even so, the fifth-gen Step WGN captured our attention due to its revolutionary tailgate.

The compact minivan came out with a couple of exciting features worth noting and among them is the “Waku Waku Gate”. The term Waku Waku is Japanese for exciting and Honda is spot on for using the term to describe the new rear door.

In detail, the rear door can be opened in two different ways. There is the pull from the bottom to the top way, which is usual for a minivan, and the outwards from left to right way. It is hard to describe it in words and you are better off checking the image above.

Unfortunately, this is the only exciting bit we found on the latest Honda Step WGN and the feature should be a new standard for other minivans to follow. As for the vehicle’s design, we find the Step WGN really disappointing as it looks so much like the latest Nissan Serena, except that it comes with a different grille and tail section.

Of course, this is not to say that the latest Step WGN is a bad vehicle. Heck, we bet you will like the 17km/l fuel consumption rating that is produced from the Step WGN’s 1.5L turbocharged VTEC engine.
