The compact crossover segment is currently the biggest automotive trend worldwide. Just last month, two new compact SUVs were introduced in the market and they are the Honda HR-V and the Jeep Renegade. Today, we are going to explore the differences between the two.
Starting with the Jeep Renegade, the vehicle drives on a 1.4L turbocharged engine that is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. What surprised us most is the Renegade’s styling, which is very different to other vehicles from Jeep. In short the Renegade is simply a beauty that has a design which can strongly appeal the general consumers.
When driven on the road, the Jeep Renegade performs decently, although, there were some difficulties face when attempting to overtake at high speed. Off the road however, the Renegade is like a deity in the wilderness. The off-roading technologies and features from Jeep gave the Renegade that added ability to climb mountains, cross rivers or simply surf in the desert dune.
The Honda HR-V, on the other hand, came out with a gentle design that is very typical of the Japanese carmaker. The compact SUV is powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that is paired to a CVT transmission. Just by the specs alone, the HR-V can already be described as a massive fuel saver.
Furthermore, the car is competed with tons of comforting features to make it a great city vehicle. The list includes air filtration, front air conditioning, audio controls on the steering wheel along with cruise control, phone control and steering wheel adjustments. Together with the 170hp and 106ft-lbs of torque developed by the engine, the HR-V makes a perfect family car for the city dwellers.
With that being said, it is no longer difficult to choose between the HR-v and the Renegade. The former is a car that is reliable and efficient while the latter offers the best off-roading experience around.
