Late last year, the world witnessed the arrival of both the all-new Honda HR-V and the Jeep Renegade. While they may belong in the same compact SUV segment, both the HR-V and the Renegade are developed with different things to offer.
For starters, the HR-V is built with a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that is paired to CVT transmission. Such a powertrain is obviously aimed at keeping the HR-V as fuel economical as possible. Furthermore, the fact that the HR-V is also very competitively priced makes it the ideal everyday vehicle.
The Jeep Renegade, on the other hand, is built to be something different. The compact SUV runs on a 1.4L turbocharged engine that is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Renegade also features 4WD technology that when engaged, will enable the vehicle to race on the muddy trails.
However, this basically makes the Renegade fairly poor in keeping its fuel consumption at its minimum. As such, the Jeep Renegade is the right kind of vehicle for those who are off-road enthusiasts.
