Earlier today, Honda launched the all-new Accord Coupe but it is not for the general market. Instead, the vehicle is specially made for the IndyCar Series since it is going to play the role of safety car.
The thing is that the Accord is commonly known as a cheap and reliable executive car. So how will the new Accord look like when patrolling and leading the track?
In terms of design, the Accord Coupe already looks promising. Like how it is pictured above, the 2-door mid-sized sedan features some nice graphics that gives it a touch of sportiness.
Inside the car, the Accord Coupe is fitted with Sparco seats and four-point racing harness. Such additions are really surprising since the Accord Coupe is not going to be among the racers at the track.
Regardless, the car looks promising after Honda Performance Department added a Borg-Warner turbocharger to the 3.5L V6 engine and high-flow fuel injectors, custom intake, exhaust, pistons, connecting rods, intercooler as well as the crankshaft from the Acura RLX.
This basically allows the Accord Coupe to generate more than 400hp and it has got us really excited. Perhaps, Honda should seriously consider making the powertrain as a standard offering on the latest Accord. Doing so will certainly make the Accord as a great daily driver.
