As a tribute of sorts to Valentine’s Day, Ford decided to prank a few guys who thought they were being picked up by a beautiful woman, specifically one who drove a 2015 Mustang GT!
Hidden cameras were tactfully installed within the car’s interior, so it was properly fitted to capture the ensuing antics. After that, the video prank cuts to the point: A very attractive woman essentially picks up guys and drives around the town with them, casually flirting and gauging their interests. At first, she feigns ignorance toward driving the car, letting some of her passengers teach her about stick shift and flex their macho knowledge. She never lets on that she’s actually a professional stunt driver.
Before the main antics even, the reactions are hilarious, primarily because of how awkward many of the guys are. Considering that none of them imagined their day entailing picked up by a gorgeous woman in a 2015 Mustang GT, can you blame them?
Things get even more unexpected when shes goes into all-on stunt driver mode, accelerating the Mustang and spinning in circles as her dates all showcase a variety of reactions. Some of them react like they’re on a rollercoaster — shouting with excitement. Another looks terrified. One even sheds a tear, after asking “Why are we going so fast?” The answer to that would be some newly installed Mustang mods like these that amp up the speed. The reactions are priceless all around and worth the watch alone.
It’s after the many circles and accelerated pedal-to-the-metals that the woman/driver reveals her day job: a professional stunt driver! After that wild ride, the men sitting in the passenger’s seat don’t doubt it. At one point before revealing her job, the woman asks one of her “speed dates” a simple question: “So what do you look for a girl?” He responds rather confidently: “Someone that likes to party just as much as I do.” He can bet that a stunt driver would certainly be able to match up with those standards, though it’s hard to blame several of the “participants” for their look of disappointment after she revealed the escapade was for Ford’s “Speed Dating” campaign, as opposed to a genuine date.
Ford released the video as a gift to consumers on Valentine’s Day for making them the most searched automotive brand, according to Google’s 2014 ‘Year in Search.’ It’s a clever bit of marketing that takes advantage of the web’s love for pranks, particularly when gender roles are reversed in humorous form while showcasing a sleek new product. While a 2015 Mustang GT is too pricey for most of us to purchase as a simple Valentine’s Day gift, there’s no doubt that – after watching this funny video – the 2015 Mustang GT was on many lovebirds’ minds on that special day.
Props to Ford for providing an entertaining and funny video that likely gave a handful of guys one of their most memorable experiences in quite some time! After being literally rocked by a Ford Mustang, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they sought one out to purchase for themselves!
