The second-generation Ford Edge might be as beautiful as its predecessor but the vehicle has so much to offer aside from being a fashion statement. For starter, the brand new Edge is equipped with the latest technologies that will enhance the driver’s driving experience.
The list includes an adaptive cruise control, adaptive steering system, collision warning with brake support, active park assist, glove box-mounted airbag system, hands free liftgate, 180-degree front camera with washer and inflatable rear safety belts.
In addition to that, the new Ford Edge has a set of redesigned and improved suspensions that offers multiple functions. The first is the ability to absorb the big shocks caused by a bumpy road and the second is to keep the road noise away from creeping inside the Edge’s interior. Furthermore, there is now an adaptive electric steering in place and it improves the vehicle’s handling.
Like most other vehicles from Ford, the Edge will be offered in four different trim levels. They are SE, SEL, Sport and Titanium. The four trims will come with different engines and they are either the 2.0liter Ecoboost four cylinder, 2.7 liter EcoBoost V6 or a 3.5 liter V6 engine. The motors will be mated to a 6-speeed automatic transmission.
Of course, the Ford Edge has yet to make its debut but it is tipped to arrive in a couple of weeks’ time. The SUV will be released in the US first before being shipped worldwide.
