Audi created headlines earlier today after confirming that they will be producing a sporty version of the Q8, based on next-year’s Q7 architecture. The upcoming vehicle is also confirmed to be the direct challenger to the BMW X6 and Mercedes Benz GLE Coupe.
Audi went on to share that the Q8 will be inspired by the Prologue Concept. In short, Audi described the Q8 as a more coupe like of the 7-seater Q7. Despite that fact, the Q8 will bear a totally different design, to distinguish it away from the Audi Q7.
The future crossover is also confirmed to be making its debut on a global scale. Audi claims that the vehicle will be launched on major markets like China, Middle East and of course, the US.
Size-wise, the Q8 is tipped to measure about 5 metres in length. As for the price, car junkies can expect it to cost $78,390 for the 3L V-6 model and $141,225 for the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 RS Q8 flagship version. There is also a possibility for the Q8 to come with a hybrid powertrain.
