2014 Honda Jazz Review: It Needs To Learn How To Rock

When it comes to hot hatchbacks, the Honda Jazz is always considered that third option, behind the Peugeot 208 and the Ford Fiesta. This is unless you are in Asia where the Jazz sells like hotcakes. The latest model was released earlier this year and we couldn’t help but to check out its offering.

For starters, the Jazz offers adequate performance with a host of new technologies to pamper the driver and the passengers. Although the upgrades might look minimal, the new Jazz is now bolder with better proportions.

What we really want to say is that Honda did a superb job in improving the interior of the hatchback. The seating positions are so perfect that the Jazz can fit in 5-passengers with ease. Furthermore, the interior is neater in the sense that the control buttons are minimal and most functions are operated through the infotainment system.

Performance-wise, the Jazz is powered by a 1.4L engine that offers 98hp and 94ft-lbs of torque. Based on the figures, it is pretty clear that the Jazz is far behind the offerings of the Peugeot 208 and Ford Fiesta. However, the Jazz excels in fuel economy as it boasts 50mpg of fuel consumption on average use.

All in all, the Jazz is considered as a perfect and simple hatchback that is tailored for the city dwellers. It also makes a great family car that can save owners a lot of petrol dollars. Then again, the Jazz is something you shouldn’t get due to its lack of thrill that can make a long drive torturing.
