2014 Honda CR-V Review: An SUV Without A Soul

It seems that every new Honda car that has arrived this year is suffering from thrill deficiency. It is a self-made term we thought of 5 minutes ago just to describe every vehicle in Honda’s MY2014 line-up. This includes the latest CR-V, which has been doing pretty well in terms of sale.

Well, that cannot be helped as the CR-V is fitted with tons of new technology that simplifies driving. Heck, the 2.2L i-DTEC diesel engine towed the 4WD SUV perfectly as it generates 150hp and 258lb-fts of torque.

In terms of performance, the CR-V is able to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 9.7 seconds. Also, there is a top speed of 118mph. By far, the CR-V is one of the most powerful SUV in its segment. Even so, it is also economical as fuel consumption averages at 48mpg.

On the downside of things, the CR-V lacks passion and perhaps, a soul which Alfa Romeo has been speaking of. Just by looking at the CR-V made us sick as it appears like a huge refrigerator resting on wheels. Also, there isn’t anything much for drivers to do as most of the stuffs are automated.

In conclusion, the CR-V is not a great car to drive, despite the sheer power that comes with the SUV. On the other hand, we feel that the CR-V will make a great vehicle for the new generation of drivers that are looking for something simple, reliable and an SUV.
