Mazda had just launched the Mazda 3 and it is already regarded as one of the best compact sedans in the world today. Then again, the same can be said for the latest Honda Civic, which made its debut earlier this year. Between the two, which is the better purchase?
Looking at the Mazda 3, the car is powered by a 2.0 liter gas 4 cylinder engine that will be paired with a six speed manual transmission. This engine comes with 155 ponies that return 29mpg in the city and 41mpg on the highway.
The Mazda 3 is also well-equipped as it comes with tons of features like keyless entry, keyless ignition, sport seats, 1-touch windows, and the standard auxiliary audio input jack and USB/iPod connection. The entry level Mazda 3 retails at $16,945.
Then there is the Honda Civic which is powered by a 1.8 liter gas 4 cylinder engine paired with a five speed manual transmission. The engine can produce 143hp while returning 28mpg in the city and 36mpg on the highway.
Like the Mazda 3, the Civic has tons of features to offer which includes Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, hands-free calling, power exterior mirror control, rearview camera, speed sensitive volume, 1-touch windows and the standard auxiliary audio input jack and USB/iPod connection. The entry level Civic retails at $18,390.
Obviously, both vehicles are superb in their own respective ways. It is hard to single out a winner in this contest so we leave the decision to you. Share with us your ideal mid-size sedan in the comment section below.
