Just recently, Audi launched the all-new Q5 and the vehicle is built on the same platform as the Porsche Macan. Despite that fact, we find the Q5 to come with a nicer design for its exterior and interior.
Inside the cabin in particular, everything is glossy for the Q5. We have to applaud Audi for being able to keep the button layout neat and tidy. The controls and dials are all carefully positioned to give off a clean-cut look overall.
This is something the Macan has been missing out on and it is not surprising, really. Porsche has this habit of throwing their buttons all over the place to show off their sophisticated technologies. For a luxurious brand, this is disappointing as they are meant to exhibit class.
Regardless, the Q5 managed to offer a nicer interior layout thanks to the new infotainment system that comes equipped with sat-nav features. Also, some of the basic car functions are controlled on the touchscreen panel, thus removing more needs for buttons.
All in all, the Audi Q5 offers a nice interior that is certainly better than that from Porsche. If we have to point out a flaw, it is with the glossiness which is thoroughly exaggerated and should be toned down a bit.
