Earlier today, Lincoln became the centre of attention after the American carmaker suddenly started bragging on how its vehicles are well-protected from the exterior noise. Lincoln revealed that this was partly owed to the $5 billion invested on sound-proofing materials.
In detail, Lincoln revealed that they have implemented new technologies on their vehicles like sound-absorbing interior trim panels as well as noise-reducing material in the pillars, trim panels and carpets.
Furthermore, Lincoln vehicles are shaped in a way that they wind noise are reduced drastically thanks to the aero-designed mirrors which control the airflow across the side, thus lowering cabin noise. At high-speeds, the acoustic-laminate windshield and front side glass comes into play to further insulate the exterior noise from creeping inside the vehicle.
Lincoln exaggerated their quietness further by equipping an infotainment system with a blocking mode which prevents any notifications from the driver’s phone to disturb the peace and comfort in the cabin.
There is simply no denying the truth which Lincoln spoke off. On the downside of things, their vehicles could have been more appealing if Lincoln learn to design and built their cars.
