BBM Android App Voice & Chat Feature: Where Art Thou

Ever since BBM got its cross-platform upgrade, there has been a resurrection in the messaging service’s popularity. The BBM application is free of charge, thus causing the cautious group of people finding the catch to this offering. Rest assured since Blackberry officially announced that BBM will be free and remain free of any charges in the future to come.

BBM users on Android and iOS can continue to keep that smile up. Blackberry will supposedly launch an update to the BBM which will provide the application with video and voice chat functions. Such an update will put Android and iOS users on the same platform with the lads over at Blackberry. Blackberry executive Vice President for BBM, Andrew Bocking, revealed that if the features are implemented on time, BBM will get the positive attention they desperately need.

While the BBM application is rapidly rising into the popular ranks, many are still worried that the application might become chargeable through subscription. This is due to the reports of Blackberry experiencing some financial woes and profitability issues. Bocking assures users that the Canadian company will venture into other sources for profits. He further revealed that BBM is developing a new premium feature similar to Youtube called BBM Channels which will be unveiled in the near future.

Of course in the corporate world, things might not last the way it should. Say that one day the management is desperate to recover from financial lost, then users will still be at risk of being charged. The fate of BBM is in the hand of its owners.
