It is thought that during Q3 of this year Apple will reveal the Apple iPhone 6 and this could be a handset that is worth looking forward to.
Rumours are that Apple may launch the iPhone 6 with a larger display and this would ensure that it would compete with Android devices. Android handsets tend to have large displays and these offer high resolutions. If Apple does launch an iPhone with a larger display they could ship as many as 90 million of them during 2014.
These figures come from a report from the Chinese language Commercial Times publication. This report suggests that Foxconn is thought to be getting an order for 90 million iPhone 6 units this year.
Analysts have also predicted that the shipments of Apple phones will rise during 2014 by around 23%, which is compared to the 13% growth posted last year.
While shipped units doesn’t mean the units have been sold, should Apple have confidence to ship 90 million, they are clearly expecting to sell a lot more iPhones than they did last year.
For now it remains to be seen whether the Apple iPhone 6 will arrive with the hardware rumours that have been going around.
