iPhone 6 May See A New, Higher Price Tag (Report)

The Apple iPhone 6 could arrive in the late summer this year a report from Highlight Press suggests. The report said that two iPhones will arrive on the market at the same time. One will be an iPhone tablet that could arrive in May and which will have a display of around 5.7 inches with the 64 bit processor seen in the Apple iPhone 5S.

Yahoo Japan said that the follow up to the Apple iPhone 5S will be called iPhone 6 and it should make its way onto the market in September. Specs are said to include the A8 processor along with a display of 4.7 inches. We may not hear anything from Apple until August when they could make an official announcement a week before the launch said industry watchers.

Price drops of the Apple iPhone 5S and 5C are said to be proof that a newer version of the iPhone is on the way. At Christmas the price tags of both the Apple iPhone 5S and 5C were dropped. We have seen price drops before at the holidays but it was pointed out that this was the first time discounted prices had been offered early, the handsets only came out in September.

If the iPhone 6 arrives with specs and features that have been updated the price tag could be around $100 more than the predecessors suggests IBT. Material costs do affect how much a handset costs and this could mean we will see a price tag that comes closer to tablets.

If Apple boost the internal storage this could also boost the price tag. It may be possible that Apple will launch an iPhone with 128GB of storage. Apple did this with the launch of the 2nd gen Apple iPad Mini and boosted the price tag by $70 with the inclusion of retina display and a powerful processor.

Rumour has it that Apple will launch the iPhone 6 with iOS 8 and the handset may have the fingerprint scanner seen in the iPhone 5S, with some improvements. There has been talk or the iPhone 6 having a curved display along with a sapphire glass coating and improvements being made to Siri.
