Processors are vital components of every smartphone today. With every new phones released, consumers often looked into its processors first. Then there are the cameras. Over the years, the pixel count has been on a sharp incline.
The latest Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2 proved that a few days’ ago during the MWC 2014. These devices will be equipped with a 16MP and 20.7MP cameras respectively.
This isn’t the case with the upcoming iPhone 6. Apple’s flagship phone for 2014 is believed to be settling for only 8MP. This is after a leak revealed that the Megapixel on the iPhone 6 will be nothing like those on other phones. Apple prefers to improve the camera on other basis instead of focusing just on the pixel count.
Such a move is not a stranger in the smartphone industry. The world had witnessed it done before with the HTC One which only boasts a 4MP camera but when it comes to picture quality, the HTC One fared better than most smartphones in its category.
As for the iPhone 6, there will be a bigger 1/2.6, f/2.0 aperture, Optical image Stabilization skills and a 6p sapphire lens. Photographers should know better that this kind of camera specs is enough for a great quality picture. It doesn’t always has to be about the pixel size.
Aside from all that, the iPhone 6 is expected to be unveiled in May and until that happens, it is best to take this with a pinch of salt. It is an unproven leak after all.
