We have seen some screenshots of KitKat 4.4.2 on the Sony Xperia X Ultra, which suggests that the update could arrive very soon.
A French carrier SFR posted the update availability schedule which tells us that KitKat 4.4 will head to the Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact and the Sony Xperia Z Ultra in April this year.
The update to KitKat is said to arrive following the launch of the Sony Xperia Z2. The Sony Xperia Z1 should get updated to KitKat before the Sony Xperia Z but at this time we don’t have any information about the roll out for the update.
A user has posted some screenshots of KitKat 4.4.2 firmware which has been seen running on the Xperia Z Ultra. This tells is that Android 4.4.2 with build number 14.3.A.0.681 has leaked for the Xperia Z Ultra C6833. The screenshots show the boot display, power display and changes to the shortcut bar.

While we haven’t heard anything official it is thought that the KitKat firmware update will have the build number of 14.3.A.X.XXX and the Jelly Bean update for the Sony Xperia Ultra will be the 14.2.A.1.136 build.
Xperia Blog said that if the screenshots are the real deal then the KitKat 4.4.2 firmware should arrive in the next few weeks for the Sony Z Ultra.
