Phone makers have been rushing to be among the first to offer KitKat 4.4 ever since it was launched by Google. HTC and Motorola have done well in the race as they told device owners about their plans for rolling out KitKat. Samsung has remained quiet about their plans.
Samsung do have many devices to roll out the update to as KitKat 4.4 offers support for handsets with lower memory. Recently iTechAddict said that KitKat 4.4 should roll out onto the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 at some point in January. This would be followed by the rollout onto the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S3 in April.
Samsung have not confirmed anything at this point in time so this is just speculation at the moment. Handset owners have been asking if the update would arrive with carriers at the same time. Samsung did stop the update to KitKat 4.4 for the Samsung Galaxy S4 with AT&T.
Fans of Samsung have also been calling for the phone maker to change TouchWiz as it has been said that the user interface weighs down the device.
