Samsung Galaxy S3 & Note 2 Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update: What’s The Story?

Samsung Galaxy S3 users are in for some bad news. Previously, it was thought that the KitKat update will be coming to this device but following the recent statement from Samsung Poland, it seems that the Galaxy S3 is omitted from the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

This is both disappointing and confusing at the same time. However, Samsung Saudi Arabia cleared the air. It seems that the international version of the Galaxy S3 won’t be getting the KitKat OS due to the instability of the 1GB RAM. On the other hand, the US version of the Galaxy S3 will get the update. This is going to be a similar case for one Australia carrier which will roll out the KitKat to its S3 users.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 2 won’t face much of an issue. Most parts of the world will see this old phablet get the KitKat update. In spite of that, there are still some countries who denied the Note 2 from getting updated. This is hard to swallow as the device has 2GB RAM which should be no problem.

More importantly, it is important for users to note that these are still speculations and best taken with a pinch of salt. We will wait until Sony HQ clarify the issue officially.
