The Samsung Galaxy S5 will be on the shelves soon and it will have dust and water resistance to one metre for 30 minutes with an IP67 rating. We are now hearing rumours that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will arrive with the same features.
Reports from South Korea suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will arrive with the same Liquid Silicon Molding technology to make the device resistant to water. The LSM is found on the inside back panel of the Samsung Galaxy S5, which seals the internal components. The Samsung Galaxy S5 also has a cover on the USB port. Sources have suggested that the Ingress Protection Rating is going to become standard on Samsung devices. They first introduced this on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active released last year.
Even though it will be months before we see or hear anything about the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, we have heard rumours going around. Bloomberg spoke to the executive vice president of Samsung and Lee Young Hee said that the next version of the Samsung Galaxy Note would make use of a three sided display and this would allow the owner to read messages from any angle.
The head of studio for Samsung Design America also said that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 would come out in the fall. It is thought that the device could make its way out at the IFA Expo in September. This is when the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and other Note devices were launched. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 arrived on 4 Sept at the press preview days. This year the IFA Expo will take place over 5 to 10 Sept.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 was launched at the Samsung Unpacked 2014: Episode One and it is thought that Episode Two would reveal the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 later on this year.
