Samsung have been dropping out hints for some time now about a device that would fall between the Samsung Galaxy Grand and the Galaxy Grand 2. No one knew for sure if the handset would actually make its way out but now we heard news that the Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite is coming out with the name of the Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo at the MWC this February.
It is thought the Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo will have the look of the rest of the Grand devices and have Jelly Bean 4.2 installed with customisation to TouchWiz. The handset should have a display of 5 inches TFT with resolution of 800 x 480 and feature a quad core processor of 1.2GHz with A7 chipset and 1GB of RAM.
On the back of the Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo there will be a 5MP camera complete with LED flash and a VGA camera is said to be on the front.
The handset should offer 8GB of internal storage with support for microSD card, while the battery is 2100mAh.
Connections options for the Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, HSPA+ (21MBPS down, 5.76MBPS up) and GLONASS support. There is no support for Wi-Fi ac or LTE.
Samsung will target the mid-range section and as such it is thought that the handset could have a price tag of about 22,000 to 25,000 Rupees. For the price tag the device may not have specs that are that attractive but for now we will have to wait for the MWC to find out if it arrives with anything better.
