The Samsung Galaxy S3 is promised to receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update and users of this old smartphone can expect it to arrive only after the Galaxy S5 gets released.
The Galaxy S3 will be part of the list of smartphones from Samsung that will get updated to the latest OS. This includes the Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy S4 Zoom, Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy note 2 and Galaxy Mega.
The tablets too will get a share of the KitKat. Samsung has named the Galaxy Note 8.0 and the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 for the KitKat update.
This upcoming update will be released per device, not simultaneously. It will follow the pecking order from the newest to the oldest Samsung device. As such, Galaxy S3 users can expect to be the last to receive the KitKat update.
