Official Samsung Galaxy Note 3 4.4 KitKat Released, Trigger It Now

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 are in for a surprise as the update to KitKat 4.4 has started to make its way out from today. The update began its journey to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in Poland where it replaces Jelly Bean 4.3 which arrived on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 last September when they handset was launched.

This rollout is in-line with the rumour that was going around some weeks back when it was said that KitKat 4.4 would arrive on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 at some point in January. This seemed impossible some days ago when presumed release dates from a carrier went missing, lack of Samsung talking and another rumour which led people to believe that the KitKat 4.4 update would not come out until February or March for the Samsung Galaxy S4. Updates for the Samsung Galaxy S series have come out before the updates for the Samsung Galaxy Note series. The exception to the rule has been with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

The KitKat 4.4 update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is making its way out now in Poland for the quad core Snapdragon handsets. This is the same version of handset in the US. The update is the same version that leaked this weekend for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung didn’t say what was new but SamMobile leaked the change log for owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

The lock screen has a camera shortcut, album art is shown on the lock screen and the keyboard has better support for emoji. Owners can choose the default messaging app or Hangouts. While the update did come with more changes this is still an incremental update.
