LG looks to start 2014 with a bang. The company is most likely planning to unveil its flagship phone for this year in February. Heck, it would probably take place during the MWC in Barcelona, Spain. It is no secret on what the next LG phone will be. Plenty of rumours call it the LG G Pro 2.
The G Pro 2 will not feature the name “Optimus” and will continue its own line of smartphones. The G-line of phones has been a success story for the company having sold millions of units in the developers region alone. It gets more impressive when LG revealed that it has sold 13 million units worldwide in the fourth quarter last year.
The LG G-line has been the basis of the Nexus devices. Both the Google Nexus 4 and 5 were created based on the G series. If LG releases the G Pro 2, there is a high chance for it to be the Nexus 6 as well.
This seems likely as the G Pro 2 is believed to feature a 6inch screen. That would fit in well with the name Nexus 6. Other than that, LG G Pro 2 will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB of RAM. Also, it will be equipped with a 1920×1080 Full HD display and will run on the KitKat 4.4 OS. On another note, there is a possibility for the device to offer a fingerprint scanner.
While it might sound great, it is still subject to confirmation by LG. It is best to take it with a pinch of salt. As we progress in this year, more information are bound to be revealed.
