Thanks to its cutting edge vanilla Android KitKat 4.4 experience the Nexus 5 has been enticing fans. Google could be set to do it all again this year with the Nexus 6, but it could be the last time that we see a Nexus from Google.
The Nexus handsets were originally designed to provide manufacturers with inspiration and the brand has driven prices down along with raising expectations. Now other Google Play Edition handsets have entered the market, such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One, so the Nexus brand name may not be needed anymore.
There were rumours going around about a new Google flagship device, possibly called the Nexus 6, and that it would arrive in the autumn. Google may also change the names of the handsets after that as there is a Nexus 7 tablet already on the market.
When Google launched the Nexus 5 is was thought to be a budget device with some superb specs and hardware.
The Google Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 were both launched with dates that fell in November. The Nexus 6 could be arriving around late October, but of course these are just rumours at the moment.
When the Google Nexus 6 does make its way out it should arrive with the True Octa-core 2.4GHz processor along with 4GB of RAM, a camera of around 20MP, a display of 5.2 inches which could be 2k UHD, a battery of 3100mAh and it could be available in choices of 64GB and 128GB.
Specs are rumoured to include a security sensor, fingerprint sensor, thermo sensor and a health monitor. Google hasn’t confirmed anything so at the moment this is just speculation. When it arrives the Nexus 6 could be the last of its kind.
